New initiative to help Manufacturers & Distributors survive the downturn.

January heralds the launch of a new national organisation designed to bring together directors and senior managers in the Manufacturing, Engineering and Distribution sectors with the aim of facilitating sales growth, accessing value added suppliers and providing a forum for solving business problems including funding and grant aid issues.

Ian Gott the managing director of Network for Growth Ltd says,

“There are many excellent organisations that facilitate networking but none focused entirely on businesses that make, repair, buy and sell things. Companies in the service sector have proved the model, demonstrating their ability to grow business through personal contact and ‘networking’. Manufacturing and distributive trades need more opportunity; they need both a local and a national network so they can tap into savings and opportunities across a wide range of suppliers and prospective customers, whilst avoiding being strangled by the presence of too many service sector companies.”

Network for Growth provides them with a new, unique and cost effective way to find that extra growth, that new supplier or partner and a way to solve and share their business problems in a way that makes a real difference to the ‘bottom line’.

Ian’s previous experience in the field of industrial measurement and control combined with ten years running the sales division of Renold Chain in Burton on Trent has convinced him that one area where British companies lose out is developing partnerships and consortiums with similar companies. Perhaps this is due to the “great British reserve”; perhaps other nationalities just meet other companies more. Whatever the reason Network for Growth is now available to help.

Meetings at Pride Park and Bass Museum alternate between early morning and late afternoon so that they don’t break into the working day and cater for early risers and late finishers.
